I attended the last part of this colloquium on Landscapes and Identities, to get some inspiration and ideas for the research I am undertaking on Place. Many topics were relevant and I am sorry I missed most of the speakers. I cycled from North London to Stratford (17 km one way) and set off late, then realised I was not allowed to cycle through the Olympic Park so had to find a way around the huge site in the middle of my planned route.
But actually, the cycling contributed a lot to my day - and to the theme of landscapes and identities, as in a way, the trek was just about that; landscapes and [my] identity. I had time to think and evaluate where I am with the work, writing etc. It is always the best way to clear the congestion of thoughts and ideas - to move; either run or walk or cycle etc - or dance of course.
