Brooklyn Adventures
Brooklyn Adventures 17-27th June 2022
Fri 17/6 jetBlue to JFK Term 5
Great flights; organised, clean and no queues! (like the European Brexit related delays at London airports..😃😂).
7.5 hrs later Arrive JFK – super hot and bright 35 degrees C. Fabulous. First thing I see is the fabulous TWA building (Saarinen, 1962, History here). Now the TWA Hotel.
Uber to Sunset Park, Brooklyn – up the stairs – and there they are – big P and Lil’P! ..and a lovely Welcome sign!
Sat 18/6
Windy start, dark dramatic skies, but warm, no rain. Cleared up and warm and sunny again (photo). Food shop for basics then Farmers Market, Sunset Park Green Market.
Eggs, bread, orange jelly..
Rest of morning; breakfast, chilling with the cats and planning ahead, getting organised, enjoying the freedom.
Daily exercise by locals in the park

Afternoon spent planning, unpacking, reading and reflecting.. Sunbathing for a bit with headphones.. bliss..
Then walked to Industry City, had some pizza and walked back to the apartment to feed the cats and prep for dinner..

Sun 19/6; Morning run in Sunset Park and walk around the local shops..

Local shops for some essentials, saw some crazy gear..

Then we drove to Jones Beach on Long Island, NY.
Parked and spent the evening in Long Island

Not as Irish as I had hoped..
Quiet evening walk and moment watching the Atlantic Ocean at Jones Beach
So beautiful, peaceful.. birds settling for the night and the cool wind in my face
Then Swingbellys as convenient to the car, for a drink and Nachos, whilst waiting for the Comedy to finish

Walked to 4th St from 45th and back.
Total steps today;

Missed seeing the fireflies this time, as we were not there later in the day
Oh, and there she is again..
Love this poster, but too expensive for what it is..
[I did go back for it later in the week. I love it. It's going on my kitchen wall, a reminder of this trip].
